Terms of Service

1. The service

referr.io lets you create referral promotions, generate referral tokens for your customers, and track redemptions and rewards via a dashboard.

2. Your account

• You must provide accurate registration information.
• You're responsible for your staff's use of the dashboard and scan tools under your account.
• You're responsible for keeping login credentials secure.

3. Your responsibilities as the business

• You are responsible for the content of your promotions (reward descriptions, terms, eligibility), and for ensuring they comply with applicable consumer protection and advertising law, including the Consumer Protection Act 2007 and the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive.
• You are responsible for honouring rewards you advertise to referrers and friends.
• You are responsible for any age restrictions appropriate to your promotion or premises.
• referr.io does not review, approve, or guarantee promotion content.

4. Data processing

• referr.io processes Referrer and Friend data (tokens, redemption records, channel data) on your behalf as a data processor. Our processing terms are set out in the Data Processing Agreement, incorporated into these Terms.
• You are the data controller for that data and are responsible for your own compliance, including providing appropriate notices to your customers about the referral program.
• referr.io is the controller for your own business account data, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Billing

• Subscriptions are billed via Stripe. A free trial period applies as stated at signup.
• Fees are non-refundable except as required by law.
• We may suspend dashboard access for accounts with a past-due or canceled billing status.

6. Fraud and misuse

• The single-use share token, cookie-based self-referral check, and cookie-based redemption deduplication are best-effort fraud controls, not guarantees. The self-referral check (rf_token) is scoped to the lifetime of the promotion it was issued for and stops applying once that promotion ends. referr.io is not liable for losses arising from referral fraud, duplicate redemptions, or staff error in fulfilling rewards.
• You agree not to use the platform to mint tokens or redemptions outside genuine customer interactions.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the service available but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance or third-party outages (e.g. Stripe, hosting) may affect availability.

8. Liability

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, referr.io's liability arising from these Terms is limited to fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost customers.
• Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Irish law.

9. Termination

• You may cancel your account at any time; access ends at the end of the current billing period.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or misuse of the platform.
• On termination, your data is retained per our published retention periods and then deleted, unless a longer period is required by law.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after notice of changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
